Awagami Kozo Double Layered is two-layered paper created in order to make available an exceptionally thin archival printable paper that can be fed into printers. By making this as a double-layered paper that can be be peeled apart after printing, Awagami have made this possible. The double layered paper is 90gsm in weight but after peeling the carrier sheet away the thickness is reduced to approximately one third of the original.

The printable side of Kozo Double Layered is composed of 100% kozo fibre and and the removable carrier sheet is made from wood pulp. This paper may be peeled into two sheets after printing and is most often recommended for original and reproductions of Asian scrolls. Kozo Double Layered is also used for works of fine art, backlit photography, and reproduction of fine art prints and antique replicas.

Kozo (mulberry) fibre itself is the main fibre used for Japanese washi and makes for extremely durable papers.

Suitable for pigment and dye based inks. Acid free, no OBAs, pH neutral. Can only be printed on one side.

Please note, as washi papers are made of purely natural materials, very subtle variations can occasionally occur - adding to the unique organic and traditional washi look and feel.
