Awagami Inkjet Paper (AIJP) is a revolutionary WASHI (Japanese paper) collection intended for high quality inkjet printing for photographers, fine artists and designers alike. AIJP preserves the uniquely tactile feel of washi while improving on common washi print issues of the past i.e. inaccurate colour reproduction and colour bleed. All AIJP papers are specially coated in order to enhance ink fastness and printing quality maximizing the creative potential of your inkjet experience.

The traditional method of making washi by hand, known as Nagashisuki, has been adapted by AIJP for machine paper manufacturing. Traditional papermaking fibers such as kozo and mitsumata are carefully prepared for a very slow-running machine so as to create a glossy textured natural paper that is very similar to handmade washi. These machinemade papers are beautiful and resilient like their handmade counterparts.

Every acid-free sheet of AIJP retains the fine organic texture and traditional look of Washi and is certain to expand the creative possibilities of digital fine art inkjet printing. AIJP is made with the finest quality fibres to meet the highest standards of professional photographers and artists. Each sheet has been made with knowledge gained through nearly 300 years of papermaking.
